Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)
Introduction
Industrial wastewater cannot be discharged untreated. Whether it comes from a pharmaceutical unit, a food plant, a textile mill or a metal works, effluent has to meet the discharge norms set by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and your state pollution control board before it leaves your premises or is reused. An Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) is the system that gets it there.
Paras Hydrotech Private Limited designs and manufactures ETPs at our own facility in Hansa Industrial Park, Derabassi. From the first effluent analysis to commissioning and long-term operation, one team handles the plant, so you are not coordinating between a consultant, a fabricator and a service contractor.
We build plants from 50 KLD up to 10 MLD (million litres per day), using MBBR, SBR, MBR, DAF and chemical treatment technologies matched to your effluent.
What does an ETP do?
An ETP removes suspended solids, oils, dissolved organic load (measured as BOD and COD) and chemical contaminants from industrial wastewater. The treated water can then be discharged safely or, with further treatment, reused in your process, cooling towers or gardens.
Why your unit needs one
- Meet CPCB and state pollution control board discharge norms and keep your consent to operate in good standing
- Avoid penalties and closure notices linked to untreated discharge
- Cut freshwater costs by reusing treated water
- Protect groundwater and the community around your plant
Our ETP solutions
Every effluent is different, so we size and configure each plant to your wastewater, your space and your discharge or reuse target. A typical Paras Hydrotech ETP moves through these stages:
- Coarse solids and debris are removed before they can damage pumps and equipment, using our Rotary Wedge Screen.
- A holding tank evens out changes in flow and strength so the later stages run steadily.
- Primary treatment. pH correction, coagulation and flocculation, followed by settling or flotation, remove suspended solids, oil and grease. We build both chemical treatment and DAF (dissolved air flotation) systems.
- Biological treatment. Aeration tanks break down dissolved organic matter. Our Air Diffusers and Jet Aerators supply the oxygen, and Mutag Biochip media from our product range supports the biological stage. We build MBBR, SBR and MBR systems.
- Treated water is separated from the biological sludge.
- Tertiary treatment. Filtration, disinfection and, where the water will be reused, a Reverse Osmosis system polish the water further.
- Sludge handling. Our Sludge Dewatering Machine and Sludge Paddle Dryer cut sludge volume and disposal cost.
Need zero liquid discharge?
Where regulations or water scarcity rule out discharge altogether, we add a Zero Liquid Discharge system (MVRE and ATFD) after the ETP, so the water is recovered and only dry residue is left.
Industries we serve and why choose Paras Hydrotech
Industries we serve
- Food and beverage processing
- Dairy and milk-processing effluent
- Residential societies and developers, including sewage treatment plants (STP) for housing projects and townships
Other sectors we can treat
The same MBBR, SBR, MBR, DAF and chemical treatment technologies can be configured for pharmaceuticals and bulk drugs, textile and dyeing units, chemical and speciality chemical plants, steel and metal finishing, and hotels and hospitals.
Why industries choose us
- 30+ years of water treatment experience. We have designed and built plants through several generations of discharge norms.
- In-house manufacturing in Derabassi. We fabricate equipment ourselves using industrial-grade materials, so you deal with the maker, not a middleman.
- One team from design to operation. Consulting, design, manufacturing, installation, operation and maintenance, and operator training all sit under one roof.
- Close to your plant. Our factory is in Derabassi, so our engineers can reach units across the Chandigarh tricity and nearby industrial areas quickly.
- Proven track record. 4,000+ projects delivered and 2,000+ clients served across industrial and residential projects.
How we deliver your ETP
- Site visit and effluent analysis. We study your process, collect wastewater samples and measure the load (flow, BOD, COD, suspended solids, oil, pH).
- Design and sizing. We select the treatment scheme and size the plant in KLD for your current flow and planned expansion.
- Tanks, screens, diffusers and other equipment are fabricated at our Derabassi facility.
- Installation and commissioning. Our team installs the plant, tests it with your effluent and brings it to the required discharge or reuse quality.
- Training and supervision. We train your operators and supervise the plant through its first stable operation.
- Operation and maintenance. Our O&M service keeps the plant running with minimal downtime.
Typical timeline: most plants are installed and commissioned within 4 to 8 weeks, depending on capacity and site readiness.
Compliance
Every plant is designed to meet the CPCB and state pollution control board standards that apply to your industry and discharge point.
If you want a ready-made scope, ask about our Turnkey Projects, where we handle design, supply, installation and commissioning end to end.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an ETP and an STP? An ETP treats wastewater from industrial processes. An STP (sewage treatment plant) treats domestic sewage from buildings, housing societies and townships. Some sites need both, and we build both.
How do I decide the right ETP capacity? Capacity depends on your daily effluent volume, peak flow and pollutant load. We measure these during the site visit and size the plant with room for growth.
How much does an ETP cost? There is no fixed price. Cost depends on the capacity in KLD, the strength and type of your effluent, the treatment technology and whether you need water reuse or zero liquid discharge. We give a firm quote after analysing your effluent.
How long does installation take? Most plants are installed and commissioned within 4 to 8 weeks, depending on capacity and site readiness.
Can treated water be reused? Yes. With tertiary treatment such as filtration and reverse osmosis, treated water can be reused in processes, cooling and utilities, which reduces your freshwater bill.
Do you offer operation and maintenance after commissioning? Yes. We provide operation and maintenance, plus operator training and supervision.
What capacities and technologies do you offer? We build ETPs from 50 KLD up to 10 MLD using MBBR, SBR, MBR, DAF and chemical treatment, chosen to suit your effluent and your discharge or reuse target.
